Abbotsford taboo show cancelled

As the “Lingerie Football League” is set to launch in Abbotsford, the fifth annual “Taboo Naughty But Nice Sex Show” is cancelled.
Former mayoral candidate Gerda Peachy has been lobbying city council to ban it.

“This obsession with deviation, it does nothing to help, it does nothing to enhance humanity.”

The V.P. of marketing at Canwest Productions claims Peachy and the opposition movement is one of the reasons they cancelled.

“There is a strong, what they call, the bible belt in that area, there is eighty plus churches which makes it the highest per capita in Canada, and a lot of those people just don’t have the same open views on sex.”

Sean Libin adds the primary reason was the lack of a roaming liquor license that would allow people to walk around with alcohol.
Meanwhile Dan Stefanson with Tourism Abbotsford says the exibition is a major attraction and local business’s will feel the pinch.

“People would come and stay in our hotels and rent cars and fly into the airport, and that’s going to be very sadly missed in our community in afew weeks when the events not here.”

The Tradex centre was to host the show at the end of March.
