More than a month after an accused child predator lost his latest bid to stay in Canada, Edward Hilts is still here.
The American citizen, wanted for trying to lure a 14-year old girl online, is attempting to appeal to the Supreme Court of Canada.
This, after a lower court upheld a ruling ordering his extradition to the United States.
The 66-year old failed to prove mistakes were made when Justice Minister Rob Nicholson approved his removal.
The deadline for his application to Canada’s highest court is April 2nd.
Hilts was first arrested in October of 2009 after sexually explicit messages were sent to an undercover agent posing as a teenager in Pittsburgh.
In May of 2011, police found him living in Vancouver with a 16-year old girl they say he’d met online.
