Air Canada has issued a “travel advisory” as a rogue group of pilots takes part in illegal job action.
Around 50 flights across the country have been cancelled as some pilots call in sick as part of their ongoing labour dispute.
The impact here at YVR has been minimal – only two Air Canada flights have been cancelled – one to Toronto at 10am as part of this “sick in”, and a 9am flight to Calgary, which at this point we aren’t sure if it’s connected to the job action.
That’s because a number of WestJet flights to Alberta and BC’s interior have been cancelled due to weather.
The union representing the Air Canada pilots is encouraging members not to participate in this illegal job action.
