Animal cruelty charges laid against the owner of ‘Captain’

Several months after a dog was left to die in a Vancouver dumpster, the BCSPCA says animal cruelty charges have been approved against the two-year old german shepherd’s owner.

Brian Whitlock faces up to five years in jail and fines totalling $ 75,000 if he’s convicted.

The 26-year old accused of beating the dog named ‘Captain’ in July is slated to appear in court on Friday.
