Aquilinis top list of WorkSafe violations

Two of the Canucks owners have been handed the highest single penalty in 2012 by WorkSafe BC.

Francesco and Roberto Aquilini, as well as Elisa Aquilini, have been fined $ 125,000 for failing to maintain in safe operating condition the farm vehicle they used to transport farm workers.

WorkSafe’s Al Johnson says this is a repeat violation: “Where we see repeat violations, one plays upon the other, if you will, and that’s what has happened in this particular place – to get them to approximately $ 125,000 and to top the 2012 penalty list.”

The second highest penalty was imposed against Skylite Building Maintenance Ltd for exposing workers to asbestos.
