The president of the BC Medical Association is pleased with a tentative four year master agreement with the Ministry of Health that was announced today.
Doctor Nasir Jetha says the associations’ 12-thousand members are being asked to approve the contract.
“We are happy with this agreement, it addresses the issues that our patients and their families have told us about, and will continue to advance solutions to those issues.”
Jetha says the contract includes modest fee hikes but he won’t say how much until members can examine the deal.
Physicians are expected to vote on the deal by the end of July.
He also denies complaints by the BC Anasthesiologists Society that this is a sweetheart deal that pours more money into a dysfunctional system.
