BC’s Education minister takes on the leaders of two opposing political parties.

BC’s Education Minister is blasting political critics on two fronts in the ongoing contract battle with BC’s teachers.

When asked about John Cummins comments about using bill 22 to try and leverage political support on the backs of striking teachers, George Abbott said

“That is an absurdity and if we set out to orchestrate that outcome the BCTF cerrtainly played their part to perfection in achieving that and I guess Mr. Cummins is contributing to that to with his generally unproductive comments in these matters.”

Abbott also took shots at NDP leader Adrian Dix who he accused of interfering with the process.

Abbott said “I think the people of British Columbia deserve to know that if the NDP and Mr. Dix are not supporting net zero then what do they support.”

He adds if they support putting more money on the table then how much and where would they get the money from.

Abbott says Dix’s stance on the ongoing teachers dispute has been “as clear as mud.”
