Bikers in hospital after they were found lying on a Surrey street

A motorcycle, no helmets and booze.

Sounds like a recipe for disaster, and Surrey RCMP say it nearly was for two men early this morning.

Around 1:15 a.m., officers came across one of the riders lying motionless on 122 Street near 88 Avenue.

“There was some indication that there had been a second person on the motorcycle, so our helicopter and police dog unit was called to search the area and we did eventually find the second person.  It’s not exactly clear what happened to cause the accident.”

Staff Sgt. Blair McColl says both men were taken to Royal Columbian Hospital.

Both are expected to recover.
