A former executive director of a Metis family support group in Surrey who is accused of sex assault against children is once again set to go to trial.
It’s been six years since Bill Lee was arrested for alleged sex crimes involving two young Toronto children dating back in the 1970s.
The allegations came to light after Toronto Police investigated two complaints it received.
In B.C., Lee was a highly respected Aboriginal policy advisor with the Ministry of Children and Families and Executive Director of Surrey’s Metis Family Services.
Lee was 67 years old at the time of the alleged offence, while the children were 6 and 11.
He faces two counts of sex assault and one count of buggery.
He skipped bail in 2008, but four months later, turned himself in.
The trial is set to take place at Ontario Superior Court.
