Big news from the NHL.
The Toronto Maple Leafs have fired General Manager Brian Burke.
The move comes just days before the regular season is expected to begin.
Burke has held the job for four years, and the Maple Leafs have never made the playoffs with Burke running the show.
Burke has also served as GM in Vancouver and Anaheim.
There is speculation Burke’s departure may have something to do with the possible move of goalie Roberto Luongo to the Maple Leafs.
