Burnaby woman returns from vacation, discovers she’s $25 million richer

The mystery of the lottery ticket is solved.

A Burnaby woman is $ 25 million richer thanks to a winning Lotto Max ticket.

Lesley Vickars says she bought her tickets before leaving on vacation — and didn’t think about them again until after she got back.

The draw happened on August 24th — but Vickars says she didn’t even realize a winning ticket that large had been sold in Burnaby.

In a release from the BC Lottery Corporation, Vickars is quoted as saying she was in disbelief when she found out.

She says her family is still deciding on how they’ll use their new riches — but says they will be going on another vacation.

A winner in Ontario has claimed the second half of the $ 50 million jackpot.
