The Coast Mountain Bus Company has put the brakes on hiring bus drivers.
For the last couple of years there’s been a big push by Coast Mountain to recruit and hire more bus drivers because of service expansion and attrition.
Coast Mountain’s Derek Zabel says that’s ended now with the Mayor’s Council turning down the supplemental Translink budget.
The initial plan called for additional service hours but that’s been pushed aside along with plans to hire more community shuttle drivers.
