One man is in hospital and no one in custody after a hit and run in Surrey last night.
Staff Sgt. Blair McColl says a man — about 40 years old — suffered “very significant injuries” — his prognosis is not known.
It happened at the intersection of 130th Street and 86th Avenue around 8:00.
“There are no suspects at this point. Our traffic units are investigating.”
There is also no vehicle description — other than that it is probably red and will have front-end damage.
McColl says it’s believed the victim was doing some kind of maintenance work at the edge of the road.
Meanwhile, mounties say they think a stabbing last night was the result of a large party, a lot of alcohol and an argument that went bad.
They were called around 9:00 to a home in the 9400 block of 159th Street.
McColl says one man had been stabbed.
“He was very quickly taken to a local area hospital and as far as we know, is receiving treatment but in stable condition.”
A suspect is in custody — McColl says the suspect and the victim are very well known to each other, but McColl won’t confirm how.
Both men are around 30 years old.
