Coming out of the summer months, Canadian Blood Services needs donations more than ever.
They need more than 14,000 of them nationwide by October 8th.
In BC they need at least 1,700.
The fear is that without these donations, Canadian hospitals could be facing a national blood shortage.
Marcelo Dominguez with the CBS explained where the shortage came from.
“…so in the summer months our appointment bookings were low, our regular donors took vacations, were involved in other activites so donating blood wasn’t always top of mind at that time.”
