Candlelight vigil held for murdered Mission mom

A grieving community gathered in the hundreds at a Mission park last night to remember a young mother who was killed.

Over 300 people, candles in hand, showed support for the family of Rachel Pernosky, whose body was found in Chilliwack Tuesday. She leaves behind a one year old son.

“This community’s heart is breaking. I know yours is just broken but this is just sickening, what this world is coming to. I am always going to remember she was an amazing mom, she loved her baby. I love you Rachel and I always will. Speak kindly of his mom; know that she loved him dearly. Raise him in the way that you know Rachel would want him to be raised.”

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team has taken over the file.
