Canucks lose in Game 5, drop out of the playoffs

The season is over for the Vancouver Canucks.

The President’s Trophy-winning team has gone down at the hands of the Los Angeles Kings – losing in overtime 2-1 – in Game Five of their first-round series.

CKNW’s Dave Pratt blames a lack of offense.

“When you go take look at the fact that this team scored a mere eight goals in the five goals that they played, it was about offence, and especially in the power play that struggled so much, especially in the first three games.

“They were 0 for 14 to start the series and even though they seemed to get their power play back later in the series, it was too little, too late.”

The Kings take the series, four games to one, and advance to the second round.
