Two-time Emmy winner William Shatner says he was on the street in Vancouver the night of the June 15 Stanley Cup riot and witnessed some of the mayhem firsthand.
In a recent interview with The Canadian Press, Shatner, 80, says he was in attendance at Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Final in Vancouver and says he found himself caught up in the riot after the game ended.
“I walked out of the auditorium and there was this loud explosion,” Shatner said. “All around us – I was right there.”
The interview, done to promote the second season of Shatner’s History Channel show entitled Weird or What?, didn’t elaborate on how long the iconic TV and movie star watched the riot unfold.
