Charges laid after Richmond smash and grab

Three men have been charged after a smash-and-grab at a Richmond jewelry store.

Police say two suspects made off with an undisclosed amount of jewelry from Ben Moss jewelers at Richmond Centre Mall last week.

Outside, one man tried to carjack a vehicle, but was taken down by passersby — and a gunshot was let off during the scuffle.

No one was hurt.

Police arrived and arrested him, and later nabbed two others.

Now charged are three men from Vancouver and Coquitlam, ages 29 to 36.
