Charges were dropped, but VPD officer still facing disciplinary action

Several months after an assault charge against a Vancouver Police officer — who shoved a disabled woman — was stayed, Constable Taylor Robinson is still facing disciplinary action.

In June of 2010, Robinson was caught on video pushing Sandy Davidsen as she was making her way along Hastings Street.

Six months later he was charged with assault.

His trial was slated to start this past February, but prosecutors dropped the case because Robinson agreed to an ‘alternative measures’ process.

He’s since been found guilty of neglecting his duty and abusing his authority.

The victim’s lawyer says an internal disciplinary hearing was held last week.

It was not open to the public and it could be several weeks before we’ll learn what — if any — punishment Robinson will face.
