Charity marks milestone

More than seven years after a new dad helped a homeless man by giving him a blanket, the charity ‘Blanket BC’ has heavily multiplied that generosity.

“We never thought we’d reach this milestone of 100-thousand blankets, quite remarkable.”

Gregory Ould started ‘Blanket BC’ on a cold night in October of 2005.

“After a chance encounter with a homeless man on the street. I walked up to him and I simply asked him, ‘what can I do to help?’ I’ll never forget his gut-wrenching words, ‘I could use a blanket to survive the night.’ So, I went out. I got him a blanket. I brought it to him. There were no words exchanged. Just a smile on his face. A glint in his eye.”

Details for making donations are available at blanketbc.org.
