The City of Vancouver is asking for public help in finding whoever has been stealing the metal grates that cover catch basins on city streets.
47 have been swiped in the past 4 days, possibly in the mistaken belief they have a high value as scrap metal.
Each grate costs the city $ 176.00.
And an uncovered catch basis is a safety risk, especially for pedestrians and pets.
