Clark and Redford still at loggerheads over Northern Gateway Pipeline

It looks like Premier Christy Clark and Alberta’s premier are still at loggerheads over the Northern Gateway oil pipeline.

Appearing on Global’s The West Block, Alison Redford was asked if BC was beginning to develop something on the pipeline Alberta can work with.

Redford laughed and said,

“I don’t know.”

But she added she is keeping a close eye on the looming BC election.

“And as we get closer and closer to the British Columbia election we are seeing a lot more public discussion within BC’s borders about what access to the West Coast looks like and how it matters to their economy, to our economy, to Canada’s economy so from our perspective we are not looking to try to negotiate anything or change anything.”

Clark and Redford met for about five minutes on October 1st with both premiers calling the tone of the meeting.. frosty.
