Clark says Chilliwack-Hope by-election will be tough race

Premier Christy Clark says it’s not going to be an easy win in the upcoming Chilliwack-Hope by-election.

Clark says by-elections are unpredictable, but the B.C. Liberals plan to run a strong campaign.

“By-elections are traditionally very, very tough for government, so I do think it’s fair to say it’s going to be a tough race.”

Laurie Throness, former chief of staff to Conservative MP Chuck Strahl, is acclaimed for the Liberals.

Gwen O’Mahony will run for the NDP and criminology professor John Martin will represent the BC Tories.

Clark wouldn’t confirm when the by-election will be called.
