CLBC faces protests over executive bonuses

Tears and outrage.

That’s how families reliant on Community Living BC are responding to the Clark  government’s refusal to address ongoing concerns about the program.

Brenda Aarstad says her 22 year old daughter Lindsay, who’s a CLBC client,  lost her job in April.

“We’ve not had any service since and its been very, very frustrating. very upsetting and basically, at this point, there’s nothing out there. We’ve been told to go to WorkBC and went to WorkBC and I got told that they don’t actually have a job developer there. She’s sitting at home doing nothing. I’ve been making phonecalls every day trying to get support.”

Aarstad is also angry with the government for refusing to cancel nearly 300-thousand dollars worth of bonuses to 60 senior CLBC employees.

More than a dozen people protested outside the organization’s Vancouver offices over the noon hour.
