Commando Santa Claus card not going over well with some

The Santa Claus card from Abbotsford police featuring the jolly old elf in SWAT gear and holding weapons is not going over well with some.

Abbotsford Mayor Bruce Banman says he has recieved a complaint from someone who didn’t like Saint Nicholas to be carting around a machine gun.

Banman says Abbotsford police chief Bob Rich, who posed in the Santa suit, has a great sense of humour.

“And as he would say to himself he did not mean to offend anyone at all but he believes that Santa Claus is a magical little elf that does not exist, it is imaginary from the North pole, and he was in no way intending to depict St. Nicholas which is something totally different.”

Banman admits police chief Rich may have missed the mark a little this time.

“You know sometimes when you are being funny not everybody sees the sense of humour I would say that during this season….however..um..I have seen some of his prior things that he has done and hey you know you hit some…the nail on the head on some of them and you just miss a little bit on others, is all I can say.”

The card featuring the commando Santa Claus was sent by Abby police to about 100 prolific criminals in the community to urge them to reform there ways.
