An act of violence in Wisconsin over the weekend, brought hundreds together in Surrey last night in a multi-faith gathering of peace and prayer.
At the Guru Nanak Gurdwara, those being honoured were the victims of the shooting at a temple in a Milwaukee suburb.
There were prayers and all faiths were welcome, “May God bless their souls, forgive any mistake they might have made in this world.”
And an urging for the community to come together, “Better understanding, more education, and less illiteracy out there.”
Can anything be done to prevent similar tragedies?
Director of the Gurdwara, Sukhminder Singh Virk, “We have to fight hatred and ignorance, and I think that’s something that all communities and all people have to do.”
