Concerned Citizens for B.C. reveals more of its mandate

The head of the new Concerned Citizens for British Columbia group is revealing more of its campaign strategy for the upcoming provincial election.

The organization was formed by Premier Christy Clark’s former economic advisor, Jim Shepard, with one clear goal: re-elect the B.C. Liberals.

“This is going to be a volunteer army, and it’s going to be comprised of worker bees and sponsors. In other words, I want your time, and if I can’t have your time, then I want your money. I don’t need observers, I don’t want people sitting around giving opinions. We need people to get out and get the job done.”

Shepard claims his work won’t be associated with either the party or government.

NDP caucus chair Shane Simpson doesn’t think the group will pay off.

“I think the big challenge for the Liberals right now, quite frankly, is whether British Columbians have decided that it is time for a change, and whether that means that they’ve decided to turn a closed ear to the Liberals at this point.”

Both were speaking on CKNW’s The World Today Weekend with Sean Leslie.
