Confusion over Port Mann/Golder Ears integration

Golden Ears Bridge commuters are being told they’ll have to get used to a new payment method – after the soon-to-be tolled Port Mann Bridge opens.
There’s confusion about when the two systems will be ‘integrated.’
The C.E.O. of the Transportation Investment Corporation says Golden Ears commuters will initially be able to use their transponders on both crossings, but Mike Proudfoot confirms they will – eventually – be replaced with encrypted decals.

“We’re moving in that direction and we’ll be working with Translink through the next many months. A Consolidated billing approach in the near future and then some system refinements again where we’ll be able to serve from one centre, but it will take some time.”

Translink is also urging Golden Ears commuters to register for the Port Mann decals before November 30th and they will be refunded their $ 10 transponder rental fee.
