Convicted pedophile Michael Berry could finally be sentenced Wednesday

The former acting coach who taught at Capilano College was convicted last April of sexually abusing several girls in the 1970’s and 80’s.

Since then, his sentencing has been delayed numerous times including last week when his lawyer reported the 73-year old checked into Lions Gate Hospital and was awaiting word on whether he’s strong enough to have surgery for cancer.

The Judge reluctantly agreed to postpone sentencing one week, but he ordered the lawyer to provide medical proof Berry was too ill to attend Court.

The decision has been re-scheduled.

Prosecutors are asking for up to nine years in prison.
