Coroner identifies man who died after taser jolt

 The BC Coroner’s Service has identified the man who died after being jolted by a Vancouver Police taser.

 The victim is 33 year old Alton Bernard Cuyugan.

 Police were called out to the 13 hundred block of Renfew Street yesterday.

 A man armed with a knife had been threatening to hurt himself.

 He was jolted by the taser, and is believed to have injured himself with the knife.

 He died in hospital.

 The new Independent Investigations Office is now on the case.
