Crown Corporation tries to prevent journalist from filing Freedom of Information requests

The BC Pavillion Corporation is trying to block Freedom of Information requests from an investigative reporter.

CKNW Contributor Bob Mackin says PAVCO has told him they have asked BC’s Privacy Commissioner for  permission to disregard his FOI requests.

Mackin says he has filed tons of freedom of information requests and has never heard of this ever happening.

“Two people can solve this Peter Fassbender and the PAVCO board can rescind this, this is outrageous it should not be allowed here in British Columbia especially under a Premier who supposedly in July 2011 sent a directive out through the entire government to be open with information, open with data, because she says it is taxpayers information so it belongs to the taxpayers.”

PAVCO runs both BC Place and the Vancouver Convention Centre.

Both have been the subject of several Bob Mackin investigations.
