A family member of a couple attacked in a West End apartment building Thursday night says her parents are still shocked and distraught.

Lin and Neil gillin, 2 of the 7 people injured, are now home and recovering and CKNW caught up with their daughter Kerry just outside the complex at 1263 Barclay Street.

She told us they were not stabbed, but her mother was beaten, kicked and hit with a hammer and her dad was knocked out.

Reporter: “Did they know anything about this suspect, did they see him in the building?”

Daughter: “No.”

Reporter: “What exactly happened?”

Daughter: “There was a bleeding woman, my mother ran out to help, that’s all I know.”

33-year old Jerome Bonneric is charged with four counts of aggravated assault, four counts of assault with a weapon, three counts of common assault, and one count of assaulting a police officer.
