Two separate incidents near Tofino on the west coast of Vancouver Island this holiday weekend have claimed two lives.
24-year-old Ryan Thompson of Colwood near Victoria died Saturday afternoon in a diving accident at the Maggie Falls swimming hole, east of the Tofino-Ucluelet junction.
Early Sunday morning, a man was struck and killed on the Pacific Rim Highway at Industrial Way in Tofino.
