DELTA, B.C. – A high school teacher in Delta, B.C., has been charged with sexual assault.
Delta police say an investigation began Nov. 4 after a young girl reported she had been attacked near the Delta Secondary School gym.
A 43-year-old teacher at the suburban Vancouver high school was arrested two days later.
The man has been released under various conditions, including not to return to Delta Secondary or to have any contact with girls under the age of 16.
Police say the suspect’s name can’t be released until charges are officially approved by the Crown.
They say officers are working closely with the Delta School Board and urge any other victims or witnesses to come forward.
