Delta Police have arrested a man, wanted in Arizona for sex crimes against a child.
George Ross Wilcox never showed up for his trial in Pima County Arizona in 2009, but was convicted anyway of two counts of sexual contact with a minor.
Constable Ciaran Feenan says investigators in Delta learned Wilcox may have been in the area two-and-a-half years ago — and have been working hard to arrest him ever since.
“Our investigators did an outstanding job following up every tip and lead that we had, and that came into fruition on Monday, when Mr. Wilcox was taken into custody.”
Wilcox, who is Canadian, had his first court appearance yesterday, and is going through the extradition process.
