Delta Police Officer Dismissed

A Delta Police Officer suspended without pay over a year ago has been dismissed following a police investigation into allegations of misconduct.

We are now only finding out about the officer’s dismissal because of documents filed in court by a couple who accuse the officer of sexually assaulting the wife.

That’s because under provisions of the Police Act the couple and members of the public were prohibited from attending a disciplinary hearing.

As a result of the hearing the officer was found guilty of allegations of corrupt practice, discreditable conduct and neglect of duty.

Court documents allege the woman and the officer started a relationship just days after police were called to the family home to investigate a domestic dispute.

The two would meet on a regular basis to have sex including in a park.

Weeks later the woman called it off saying she was ‘distraught and overwhelmed by the officer’s advances.’
