Dix calls Clark’s citizens’ group a Super PAC

NDP Leader Adrian Dix is riding high in the polls lately, and he says he’s going to continue his positive campaign ahead of next year’s provincial election.

He says he’s not going to sink to the level of his rival, Liberal Premier Christy Clark, who has a citizens group working to get her elected.

Dix goes so far as to call the group – headed by former Clark economic advisor Jim Shepard – an American-style Super Pac.

“That’s what it is, that’s the intent of it. They’re creating a political action committee for the premier. And Mr. Shepard has been very aggressive in his personal attacks since he took it on.”

Dix says people are tired of attack ads.

When asked whether he would increase income tax if elected, Dix says “there’s not much room … For that in these times.”
