NDP Leader Adrian Dix met with Seaspan over concerns about Federal budget woes affecting billions in recently awarded ship building contracts.
Dix however, says it doesn’t look like Seaspan has anything to worry about. He says his real concern is with getting workers trained to meet the shipbuilding demand, “I’m hopeful that the Premier, or should I say, the Government works out all the issues around training because that is a really critical component of British Columbia taking full advantage of this. It appears that Seaspan’s, you know, consistently professional approach is, I think, working well at the Federal level as well.”
Dix says his concern is around the Government cutting skills training.
