Driver lost his temper?

The trial of a contractor accused of hitting a flagger with his truck on a New Westminster construction site in November 2010, begins Friday.

Michael Biemans is charged with assault with a weapon.

Diane Herback, with the Flagging Association was on-site that day, and alleges the incident may have been deliberate, “Part of Columbia, a side-street coming down to Columbia was closed and this Mike Biemans was driving around all day going around the closure and stuff. And towards the end of the day, he said to our flagger, ‘You, effing let me through or I’m going to hit you,’ and that’s what he did; he hit him with his work truck.”

Herback says dozens of flaggers will pack the Courtroom, hoping for jail time.
