An eight year old is in hospital after getting hit by a car while crossing the street in Surrey just before 6pm Sunday.
It happened on 140th Street and 74th Avenue, and RCMP say the girl was in the crosswalk, the walk light still flashing.
Bob Pinkewycz says the girl was taken to hospital in serious, but non-life-threatening condition.
“She sustained some injury to the head area where she impacted with the vehicle. The vehicle’s driver was cooperative and obviously stayed on scene.”
Pinkewycz say weather may have been a factor, as wet snow was falling at the time.
