Ex-members sue Kwantlen student association

Two ex-leaders of Kwantlen University College’s student association who were among 12 impeached last fall are now suing the student group.

Nina Kaur and Gary Dhaliwal have filed a notice of claim that says the special meeting in which they were unanimously ousted was not called as required under the Society Act.

Lawyer Johnathan Tweedale says they are seeking several declarations.

“Declarations that the disputed gathering on the 30th was a nullity. Declarations that all of the resolutions that were purported to have been passed at that gathering were nullities.”

Students held the vote after it was discovered two other members were related to a former leader accused of mismanaging millions in student fees.
