Family of murdered Surrey teen still looking for answers one year after her death

The family of a murdered Surrey teen is renewing the call for anyone with information to come forward, on this, the first anniversary of Maple Batalia’s death.

The murder of the popular 19-year-old stunned the community.

Batalia – studying at the SFU campus in Surrey, was shot to death, in the parkade.

Her family’s holding a vigil Friday night at Holland Park.

Batalia’s sister Roseleen says there must be someone who knows something…..

“if anyone’s who’s listening out there and sees  how much my family’s struggling finds it in their hearts to do the right thing because the police can only do so much unless they get everyone’s cooperation and help.”

IHIT says it’s pushing forward with the investigation and continues to get tips but so far there have been no arrests.
