Firefighter could face jail time for stealing $100,000 from band

A former treasurer of the Vancouver Firefighters Band will find out in two weeks if he’ll serve jail time for stealing from band coffers.

Jason Davidson has pleaded guilty to theft and fraud.

He says he’s sorry for stealing $ 100,000 from the band while he served as treasurer between 2003 and 2006.

He used the money to buy a diamong ring, a house, a new fridge, and more.

The 8-year firefighter faces jail time, a sentence to be served in the community, or a discharge.

Either way, he’s agreed to pay back $ 66,000– as he did return some of the money after stealing it.

The judge reserved her decision until April 3rd.
