Former political staffer faces prison time for sex crimes

He eluded capture for fifteen years.

But a former Vancouver political staffer has now owned up to sexually assaulting teenage girls.

Ibata Hexamer has entered guilty pleas for sexually assaulting girls, the first back in 1995, when he pulled a 13-year-old into the stairwell at Lord Nelson Elementary.

Hexamer also sexually assaulted two 14-year-old girls in Delta at knife-point in 2007, and threatened and confined a 6-year-old Surrey girl in 2009.

The 44-year-old, who at one time worked for Vancouver civic party COPE,  was busted after DNA evidence linked the three crimes together.

He’ll be sentenced in October.
