Former Prime Minister suing Vancouver developer

A former prime minister is now one of more than a dozen buyers suing the developers of a high-end Vancouver highrise that was supposed to be ready for occupancy last year.

Kim Campbell was one of the first to buy a condo at the new Hotel Georgia when plans were announced in 2007.

She made a 368-thousand dollar deposit and was promised her luxury home would be completed by Ddecember of 2011.

Court documents filed last month claim the builders of the 156-unit development failed to disclose the project was more than a year behind schedule.

Some buyers started moving in earlier this year, but those taking legal action are still demanding the return of their deposits.

Campbell was the first woman to become Prime Minister in June of 1993, but lost the job in October of the same year when the Conservative government was toppled by the Liberals.
