The mother of an innocent man killed in the Surrey Six Massacre wants to mark his birthday in a special way.
Eileen Mohan says her son, Chris, would have turned 27 next week.
So she’s holding a forum Saturday for young people and their parents to brainstorm ways to help kids stay away from drugs and gangs.
“Now this youth forum isn’t about at-risk youth only. It’s about normal youth, youth who are accelerating in their classwork, they want to be youth leaders, they want to help out in their community.”
Superintendent Tom McCluskie of the RCMP’s Gang Task Force and Vancouver Sun Reporter Kim Bolan are among those scheduled to speak.
Chris was one of two innocent men killed in the 2007 gangland hit.
