Foul play not suspected in deadly fire

RCMP have determined foul play was not a factor in a house fire early this morning on Vancouver Island that left two children dead.

Constable Gary O’Brien is not saying how the fire started in the house on Nanoose first nation land near Lantzville.

But says officers are satisfied it is not suspicious and have turned the case over to the coroner’s service.

The boys were ages seven and ten years old.

O’Brien says their house was destroyed and the family has no home insurance.

Donations are being accepted at the local treatment centre.
