Frozen berry warning

The B-C Centre for Disease Control is warning the public not to consume “Pome-berry blend” frozen berries, manufactured by Western Family.

Those berries may be linked to the Hepatitus A virus.

The warning comes after eight cases of Hep A over the past few months in B-C, and five out of the eight involve people known to have consumed the product — distrubted through Save-on-Foods and Overwaitea.

A direct link between the berry-blend and the virus has not been made yet — but, as a precaution, the Centre for Disease Control is urging anyone with the product in their freezer or refrigerator not to consume it.

Once the Hepatitus A virus enters your body, it can take anywhere from fifteen to fifty days before you feel sick.
