Gang lawyer asks for no jail time

A Vernon lawyer who gave the Greeks gang he worked for information leading to the murders of two men is pleading for no time behind bars.

William Mastop’s lawyer says a conditional sentence which may include house arrest is suitable.

David Crossin says the 46-year old who spent ten years working for convicted gang leader Peter Manolakos has expressed ‘significant remorse’ for his actions and he’s fully prepared to face the consequences.

He pleaded guilty in December.

Prosecutors are seeking a sentence of up to three years incarceration.

BC Supreme Court Justice Mark McEwan will decide his fate.
