LANGLEY, B.C. – A seven-year-old Langley, B.C., girl who is believed to have overdosed on a date rape drug remains in hospital as Mounties continue an investigation.
RCMP Cpl. Holly Marks says police are speaking with people who may have information about the circumstances of the incident in which the girl may have drank some water from a bottle suspected of containing the drug GHB.
Police have conducted preliminary interviews of the adults at the residence.
Marks says the girl was unconscious when an ambulance arrived at her home on Saturday but she is expected to make a full recovery.
The Children’s Ministry has been advised and is expected to look into the incident.
Police have not yet determined if charges will be recommended.
